How Far Along: 20 weeks and 1 day!
Size of baby: A banana. I like thinking about that, because that seems big!
Sleep: Slept well last night, but the night before was so excited to see you again during our ultrasound and find out whether you're a boy or girl I hardly slept that night.
Total Weight Gain: OK, I was wrong a few days ago, I think now I've gained about 10 pounds, maybe 11 and I read some where I should be gaining another pound per week.. so that's another 20 pounds. Yikes! Where is it all going to go??
Symptoms: Sleepy and out of breath easily, but overall feeling pretty good.
Movement: So much movement. I am sure in a few weeks I will think of this movement as nothing for what's to come and how much you'll be kicking me, but so many little bubbly movements in my belly, I actually love the way it feels.
Maternity Clothes: No new clothes for me. But did buy something for you! Your first pair of shoes, will see what they look like as you read on this post.
Go-to eats: For some reason I am really craving tofu.. but I heard it's not good for you, so I am trying not to eat too much of it, but man does it taste good to me right now.
Best moment of the week: Finding out your gender! And drum roll please....

Gender: A girl! You're a baby girl. Everyone was right. I thought maybe you were a boy for a bit, but then I kept going back and forth and before I went to the doctor's yesterday to see you I did know you were going to be a girl, but everyone was right this whole time. Dad said last night that you were his princess and that he already knew he would die for you. He's going to be an amazing Daddy... Man are you one lucky girl.. Here is your most recent photo shoot. You were being a little shy, but we did get some good shots.

Here you are! Flashing us your two "lines"

Your beautiful side profile:

I love this one!  Your little hand waving "hello"!

We bought you your first pair of shoes!

And here is Dad and I messing around after we found out we were having a girl...

Workout: Not good at all... sorry baby girl, I've been lazy this week.
What I’m looking forward to: Seeing you grow and I keep thinking about what you going to look like. I think you're going to be a beauty. Hapa girls are lookers!
Milestones and stressors: I was so happy to see you yesterday. We saw your spine, kidneys, strong heart beat, your arms and legs (they were folded) your cute little hand and obviously your 2 lines to tell us you're a girl. And everything looked perfect. Nothing to worry about. But you were face down again. I guess that's just a comfy position for you, so we couldn't really see your face. The practioner jiggled you around a bit and woke you up and had me turn to my side. But of course, being the worry wart that I am, as soon as I got home, I googled face down babies in ultrasounds and everything says it's perfectly normal, especially at this phase since you are still small and like to move around, and I searched lots of article, but then one article said it could mean down syndrome. What? I told Brian and he said that was silly, like because you are down you have downs? So of course I know that it is not true! And to be honest even in that article people commented to her post saying that is totally false and that lady was being crazy. You're going to be a perfect baby girl! Smart, beautiful, funny, sophisticated, kind to others. I just know it! I can't wait to meet  you. Your due date is September 14th. I wonder how you will come into this world? Hopefully at the right speed and don't hurt me too much ;)

Also side note, I am so paranoid I emailed my doctor about my worries of you being face down and he wrote this... I knew everything was just fine. If I  worry this much now, how am I going to be when you're a  teenager. Yikes!

Hi Jennifer,

I took a look at your ultrasound report. Everything looked fine. Babies move around all of the time. I would not give it a second thought.

How Far Along: 19 1/2 weeks! Almost 20 weeks in 2 days.
Size of baby: A mango (but since I am so close to 20 weeks, I'll say in between and mango and a banana).
Sleep: Not too bad, I go to bed just fine, I get sleepy early, but I some times wake up in the middle of the night. I got a leg cramp the other night, ouch, not fun to wake up to. And some times it's hard for me to get back to sleep once I am up. But since I am in bed so early, I am still getting a good amount of total sleep.
Total Weight Gain: I think I've gained about 8 or 9 pounds now.
Symptoms: Good symptoms! I am hungry all the time. Nom nom nom and I am feeling things! More under movement
Movement: Definitely feeling lots of flutters. Feels like there is popcorn popping in my belly. I love it.
Maternity Clothes: No new clothes, but hiding the pregnancy really well. Lots of jeans and big tops. That's my signature work outfit, but on the weekends I like to show you off :) Tight dresses to show everyone how big you've gotten.
Go-to eats: Eating more Apple salads for lunch. For $4 you get a HUGE salad and it's yummy. But also still love my sweets (at least one sweet thing a day) and carbs are still delicious to me.
Best moment of the week: The flutters! Love them, really feel like you're moving and growing in there. Also your new friend arrived! Maxwell Funsten Holbrook, Jen Hahn's baby is here. He arrived on Tuesday, April 22nd and he's a perfect baby, just a doll. You two will be good friends. Jen let me FaceTime her while she breastfeed and gave me a good look as what to expect when you arrive and it looks wonderful. I am getting more and more excited to be a mommy every day.

Gender: Still no clue! Have been calling you a boy. But now I may think you're a girl because of the dark line that formed on my belly from the beginning. Shirene said she had a line with Josephine and her sister didn't have one with AJ and neither did Jen Hahn with Maxwell, so who knows! I am tired of guessing though, so excited to find out on Monday! 3 more days.
Workout: Did pretty good this past week. Went on a nice hike in Carmel for Rinee's bachelorette party and even went to the gym a couple times this week.
What I’m looking forward to: After seeing Jen with baby Maxwell, just being a mommy. It feels more real every day.
Milestones and stressors: Last Friday, April 18th was a sad day for our family, we lost our beloved cat JoJo. We found him in front of our house, laying peacefully but he wasn't moving and we realized right away he was gone. Your dad took it very hard. We buried him in our backyard. He was my first pet. And even though he was a little guy, he had a very big presence in our lives. We will miss him dearly. I sometimes wondered how he would be with you. But Brian says to give him the benefit of the doubt since he's gone now and he would of been a great cat sitter to you. Here is a video that Brian made of JoJo's short life, so you can see him and what he meant to us: http://vimeo.com/92481638

How Far Along: 18 weeks!
Size of baby: A sweet potato :) That sounds cute, my little sweet potato.
Sleep: Well I had a terrible cold last week, so sleep was not good. I've had a stuffy nose almost the entire pregnancy and having that cold made breathing so much harder. I ended up taking some benedryl before bed a couple of the really bad nights, which is OK to take during pregnancy and I think this helped a bit. But last week was a rough week baby.
Total Weight Gain: Getting up there! Feel big this week, harder to hid this belly, but total weight gain is about 7 pounds.
Symptoms: Well with my cold last week and starting my new job and not being able to take any medicine I would say that was my roughest week so far.
Movement: I thought I felt a flutter last night! Maybe I don't know what I am feeling though...
Maternity Clothes: Got a belly band, haven't used it yet though. And haven't bought any more maternity clothes, but lots of flowy tops. Since I started my new job last week and my team doesn't know. Trying to figure out when to tell them, but hiding this belly is very important. I think I've been doing a good job.
Go-to eats: Apple has lots of good food options, but still drawn to the carbs. Trying to drink a green juice every day. It's made up of kale and celery and lots of good for  you things :)
Best moment of the week: The past couple of weeks have been a busy one, with finishing up at Accenture, starting my new job at Apple and being sick, so the best moment of the week for me was last weekend when your dad and I went to Half Moon Bay for my birthday weekend and we drove up highway 1, we stopped at beaches, restaurants, shops and of course garage sales for your dad. You'll be going to lots of these when you are born. And we ended up at a hotel and had a lovely bday weekend. We took some silly baby bump pictures along the way. But the neatest part was I found a rock with a heart shaped hole in it at one of the beaches and thought of you baby!

Gender: Still no clue! But still keep calling you a boy. But we'll find out for sure in 2 weeks!
Workout: Not good this past week, but because I was sick I'll give myself a break.
What I’m looking forward to: I know this doesn't have so much to do with you baby, but just getting acclimated to my new job. Since I am taking so much time off so soon because you are coming I want to make sure I do a really good job here during my few short months before I take maternity leave.
Milestones and stressors: Big milestone is leaving Accenture and starting my new job at Apple. Even though I was sick on my first week on the job, I feel like I did a good job last week and will continue to do well. I am really excited about my role here.  But it is a bit stressful too knowing you need to be my priority baby, and you will always be, so don't worry. Apple is a really family friendly place, so I know I can balance everything :)

How Far Along: 16 weeks!
Size of baby: An avocado. Definitely starting to feel big! But still have a long ways to go, which is kind of crazy.
Sleep: Sleeping pretty well this week.
Total Weight Gain: Getting up there! 2 more pounds since week 14.
Symptoms: Back aches, slight headache, still tired, but getting more energy. Out of breath easily.
Movement: No movement yet. But after seeing you baby, I can't believe you are so big already, hopefully you'll start to move soon. Can't wait :)
Maternity Clothes: Want to get a belly band, even leggings are feeling tight.
Go-to eats:  Still love carbs, cheese and sweets. Need to eat more protein and veggies, but just not craving them.
Best moment of the week: When I saw you baby on the ultra sound yesterday and seeing your big baby head and beautiful spine.
Also finding out that you tested negative for Down Syndrome and other birth defects. I am so proud of you for developing so strong.
Gender: Still no clue! But now I keep calling you a boy. Hmm, I am confused. I was hoping we would find out yesterday at the 16 week ultra sound, but he said it was too early too tell and your butt was too close to my pelvic bone.
Workout: Eh, going to the gym about about once or twice a week, went on Saturday and am going to go again today
What I’m looking forward to: Starting to feel more relaxed. Just happy happy happy about your development and watching you grow.
Milestones and stressors: Excited for my new job, but want to make sure I don't stress you out too much baby. I will balance both, I promise and I will be a good new Apple employee and be a good mommy. Also excited to start eating healthier with the options provided at Apple.
