How Far Along: 38 weeks and 6 days!
Size of baby: A pumpkin. Oh my.

Sleep: Since I am done with work, I sleep when I want to! So sometimes I take naps, sometimes I got to bed late and wake up around 9, it's been super nice having that flexibility.
Total Weight Gain: 36 pounds. So since the last post, a month ago I've only gained 2 pounds. Which is good. :) So don't think I'll hit 200 whoppers. Whew!
Symptoms: Pee all the time, but that's nothing new. Hips still hurt at night and just feel heavy. Harder to move around; to get up off the couch, get out of bed or get out of the car. But hanging in there.
Movement: Yes! Been moving. I guess you're not suppose to be moving as much since there is hardly any room in there now since you're getting so big, but definitely keeping an eye on your movements. I love it when you move.
Maternity Clothes: At this point I am wearing what I got. Just feel big. Things are fitting nice and snug. Same as last post, just wear what I have and trying to be comfortable.
Go-to eats: Dad's been cooking! He's been making yummy dinners that I just love. The other night made delicious roasted veggies and filet mignon. But still craving those sweets.
Best moment of the week(s): Being my first week off of work has been amazing. Just not having to worry about work stuff and just focusing on the baby and relaxing. Got 2 prenatal massages, got a pedicure, got my hair done. Brian and I stayed at the Dream Inn on Wednesday night. Just a nice relaxing week. Taking advantage while I can!
Here are some pics recent pics:

Gender: Ella and Addison are our top two contenders, still but I like Ella.
Workout: Walked a mile with mom and dad on Monday, and went swimming. Might try and go swimming today. But other then that lots of exercise is not so easy at this moment.
What I’m looking forward to: Meeting you!! I am getting anxious, excited, nervous but I can't wait to see your cutie face.

Milestones and stressors: Can't believe you're due in a week. What?! That's so crazy. I wonder if you're going to be on time, early, late? I just hope you come out healthy and with no complications. Even if it's painful, I am of course scared of that, but I just want you to be alright. I love you already so much.

How Far Along: 35 weeks!
Size of baby: A coconut. My little baby coconut.

Sleep: Oh my hips! The hurt all the time now when I sleep. And I think I literally wake up every hour now to pee.
Total Weight Gain: 34 pounds total weight gain. So not too much from last post.. I just want to stay under 200 big ones and I am still a bit of a ways away from there, but I do have 4 more weeks. Yikes, 5'2 and 200 is a big lady.
Symptoms: Hips hurt at night, I also think I pulled my thigh muscle, so I walk quite funny and very slowly. Pee all the time, swollen feet (but kind of used to that now and actually doesn't seem as bad as it was a couple weeks ago).
Movement: Love your movements baby girl. Last night Dad and I just stared at my bear tummy and watched you move and move. I get so nervous when you don't move for awhile, but you've been pretty active. Or then I get nervous if you move too much because I don't want you get all tangled.. Oh my I am such a worry wart already.
Maternity Clothes: At this point I am wearing what I got. Just feel big. Things are fitting nice and snug.
Go-to eats: Same as usual. Still crave those sweets and chocolate especially. Jen H told me if you crave chocolate while pregnant your baby is going to be super smart. She said maybe it was a Facebook blog.. but eh, what ever the resource! ;)
Best moment of the week(s): My baby showers! OMG were we showered with love baby girl. We got SO much stuff. I can't even believe how much stuff we have now. We even got your BOB stroller. A highchair, pack and play, carseat. I mean we are set. Dad and I got a crib for you from Ikea, just need to set it up. We are almost ready for your arrival. But you don't need to come too early (or too late) or too painfully..
Here are some pics from the showers~
Family shower:

Friends shower:

Gender: Ella and Addison are our top two contenders.
Workout: Not too good, but I walk around for work a lot.
What I’m looking forward to: Some down time. Just 2 more weeks left of work! And then it's just waiting your arrival.. :)

Milestones and stressors: One more month baby girl! I am so excited to meet you. But I know there are lots of changes coming our way, but I know things will be just fine. I love you already!

How Far Along: 32 weeks!
Size of baby: A squash. I can't believe it. That really sounds huge. But I know when I start writing watermelon and pumpkin I guess a squash will sound small.

Sleep: I pee a lot, all throughout the night, but besides that not too bad. I think I've been wearing myself out so much during the day and don't let myself nap, so my body just has to rest throughout the night. I have no choice.
Total Weight Gain: 32 pounds total weight gain, that's if I say I started at 153.. so you do the math ;) I really shouldn't gain more then 40-45 pounds total though. I really do not want to get to 200! Yikes.
Symptoms: Swollen feet! I think that's gotten worse. I was worried I had preeclampsia  but I don't, blood pressure is actually great. I am such a worry wart. Just big ol' belly, but still feel pretty good. Get winded easily, but overall I've been pretty lucky.
Movement: Went to the doctor yesterday and got scared because you weren't moving as much, so now I am trying to do my "kick counter" more often. He did an ultra sound and I felt like it took forever for you to move, but at other times you move all the time. So again I am just a worry wart. But keep it up baby girl. Keep on moving!
Maternity Clothes: No more, trying to clean out my closet and just use what I have. No more shopping.
Go-to eats: OK, those chocolate muffins I mentioned last post? Well they still taunt me daily. I need to stay away from salts to keep my swollen feet down, but it's hard. I try and eat more salads, but really just eat what I crave. Since the house is finally done we can start cooking again at home. But we haven't really done that yet. The house is still in shambles because things are all over the place. But we're getting there.. slowly..
Best moment of the week: Rinee's wedding! OMG it was amazing. Probably the most beautiful wedding I've been to. It was quite the weekend. Rehearsal and cocktails on Friday, wedding on Saturday and brunch on Sunday. It was really great seeing such good friends. And meeting Maxwell! You're future friend. He is a cutie pie and Jen gave me some great advice about having a baby and being a parent. Sunday night we had dinner with Uncle Alan and Sarah, which was lovely. Brian and I were planning on exploring Boston on Sunday night and Monday, but the wedding weekend was so exhausting we mainly slept. Which is what we both needed. Didn't take many photos, but here is one from the rehearsal dinner and one from the wedding:

Gender: Ella, I am thinking Ella. You feel like an Ella to me..
Workout: Eh.. have to walk a lot, but nothing outside of that.
What I’m looking forward to: The house being put back together. We're almost there! And my showers. I have 2 coming up. One on August 2nd (family) and one on August 9th (friends).

Milestones and stressors: Just need to relax. The amount of stuff we have in our house stresses me out a lot and causes me to get angry with Brian. But I just need to remember to breath and smile. You'll be here soon, but not too soon, so we still have time before for your arrival. But I can't believe you'll be here in less then 2 months!

How Far Along: 30 weeks!
Size of baby: A cucumber. Hopefully you'll be fatter, but they mean length.. so that's BIG. I say that every week. But it's amazing how much you're growing.

Sleep: Not so good. I wake up a lot in the middle of the night, and have a hard time going back to sleep afterwards. But last night I slept great. It really depends on the night.
Total Weight Gain: 27 pounds. Not too much more then 3 weeks ago, so that's good I am slowing it down.. a bit!
Symptoms: Swollen feet! And ankles. Definitely starting to slow down, but still feel pretty good. I have been getting lots of vitamin D, so feeling tan and not too unattractive. I think 30 weeks is a good look.
Movement: Oh yes, bigger movements too. I love it. Keep it up baby girl. I have a fetal kicker counter now, and I feel like you've been doing great. I need to track it better though.
Maternity Clothes: Haven't been shopping too much since ALL of our $$ is going towards the remodel. But it is SO exciting. Our contractor started after my last post and he's already about 2/3 done. I can't wait for it to be done. It's going to look SO good for you baby girl.
Go-to eats: I passed my 3 hours glucose test, woo hoo! So we are all good. But that means sweets are still in the diet. Oops ;) I can't help it. You crave them! I just found these chocolate muffins they have at work. DANGEROUS.
Best moment of the week: So much has happened since the last entry. Let me re-cap. The first huge thing is the remodel. Here are some photos of what has been happening. This is completely stressful, but I think your dad and I have been handling it pretty well. Considering I am 7 months pregnant I truly believe we are the real deal to get through all of this and still love each other so much. Photos of the remodel so far!

In between all of this remodel we even went on a mini babymoon to San Diego. Here's a photo of us at Cornando Island. We visited Vee and had some time alone. We ate amazing food and it was the perfect trip.

Gender: You're still nameless. Here are some top contenders though: Addison, Quinn and Ella.
Workout: Not too bad. Been walking more, doing some swimming. Just getting outside more.
What I’m looking forward to: The house being finished so we can start focusing on your room! I haven't even had a chance to really focus on this because of everything else happening, but it will be a beautiful room and the house is going to look awesome. It already does!

Milestones and stressors: The house, of course this house.. Our lives are literally consumed right now with this remodel. Home Depot and HD Supply are our 2nd homes. Also our trip next weekend to RI for Rinee's wedding, it's both exciting, but I am stressing out about this LONG flight. My feet already became so swollen from the flight to SD and this flight is 5 times as long. Blah, but hopefully it will be all lovely.

How Far Along: 27 weeks!
Size of baby: Rutabaga. What is a Rutabaga? What ever it is... must be big because I feel huge ;)

Sleep: Is so-so, sometimes my hips will hurt and it's harder to pop out of bed. I also have to pee a lot. But I hear it only gets worse in the last 3 months, so grateful for how much I am getting now.
Total Weight Gain: 25 pounds. Uh oh.. that's like 6 pounds since the last post and I am suppose to be only gaining a pound a week. Slow it down!
Symptoms: Feeling big. Definitely look pregnant. I feel like when you're pregnant you think you don't really look pregnant, and then you look in a mirror and wowza, there you are baby! My back is starting to hurt a bit carrying this weight around. Also feet are bit swollen, so I like wearing sandals.
Movement: You're moving away. Still feel a bit low, but slowly the movement feels higher and higher. That means you're getting bigger and bigger. Keep growing baby girl.
Maternity Clothes: You know I don't really want to have to buy clothes, but things are just starting to not look right. And since I have to be somewhat presentable every day at work, my clothes are becoming limiting. So I shop sparingly, but I got a cute pair of white maternity pants (from Ross! $14.99!) love good deals.
Go-to eats: Well I found out some bad news that I failed my 1-hour glucose screening test. Boo. By 2 points. I guess normal is under 139 and I got 141. So that means I have to go back to the hospital for a 3 hour test on Friday (so it's more accurate) and they will draw my blood 4 times. Ugg, not looking forward to that. So we'll see what this test reveals, but if it's positive, then that means I have gestational diabetes and I really have to watch my diet. Which I will be honest with you, I haven't been the best at. I kind just eat what I crave.. I do try and throw some fruit (loving fruit) and other healthy things in the mix, but I've been loving my sweets. But if I have GD, no more sweets!
Best moment of the week: Well today our 3 year anniversary! Woo hoo. We're going to Shadowbrook for dinner tonight. So that should be fun. Last weekend saw some of your future friends. Went to Renee's baby shower and celebrated the arrival of her upcoming baby girl. We also met Ronan, Shirene's baby boy and all her family was celebrating AJs first bday. And Sunday we BBQed at MaMa's house for Father's Day. Busy weekend. The weekend before went boating and swimming, got lots of sun.

Gender: Have not even thought of a name! You might be nameless baby girl till the day you're born.
Workout: If I have GD, I better be ready to work out more, but so far I move around daily due to going to work and I live a some what active lifestyle. When it was warmer last week I went swimming a few times. Love to feel light in the water. But other then that I am not running marathons or anything ;) But I could be walking a bit more.
What I’m looking forward to: Getting started on the house! Really getting started! We have a contractor. Mr Wong who did the duplex. Yipee! Brian and I went to Home Depot the day before yesterday and got a good list going and he went back yesterday evening with Eric and picked it up a bunch of materials. We are going to have a beautiful new house for a our beautiful baby girl to play in soon.

Milestones and stressors: I guess this dreaded 3 hour glucose test that I have to do on Friday is a bit stressful. I hate getting my blood drawn, but 4 times in 3 hours. Ouch! But other then that feeling good, feeling positive. I need to start looking into birthing classes and getting a tour scheduled of the hospital. Lots of to-dos! Once the house if started and finished I'll feel much better too. My "nesting" tendencies make me a bit anxious (especially with your father) that garage!!

How Far Along: 25 weeks!
Size of baby: Cauliflower! That sounds funny, since it this can vary in size, but I think we're talking a big head of cauliflower.

Sleep: Eh, it was going well until last night when I woke up at 2am and couldn't go back to sleep until 5am. So hopefully this trend doesn't continue.
Total Weight Gain: Maybe 19 pounds now? I haven't weighed myself much this week. But even though the doctor told me to cut back, I didn't really listen to her... oops. I am still loving my sweets! Baby I am going to give you a sweet tooth!
Symptoms: I feel pretty good. I get out of breath easily and I did feel a little bit of cramping on some days. But I guess that's all normal.  And man do I have to PEE more. All the time now.
Movement: You're moving and moving. Keep it up baby girl! Move away! I think you are still low in my belly, because I only feel you moving below my bellybutton, but pretty soon you'll start to move up higher and you'll probably start to kick me in the ribs. But I don't mind.
Maternity Clothes: No shopping this week. Auntie Grace bought me a nice dress and I took a picture and I felt like I looked much bigger in the photo then I thought I looked in person. I think that's going to start happening more and more.
Go-to eats: Dad has been making us some great meals! He made us steak the other night with asparagus and chicken and squash last night. He is becoming quite the chef. At work there are so many healthy options, but I'll be honest this week I went for sushi, pasta... could have been better.
Best moment of the week: This past weekend was super relaxing. Friday Dad and I had our usual date night in LG. Saturday morning we picked out materials for our remodel (Mom, your MaMa came and we went to lunch) I took a nice long nap. Then went over to MaMas and GPs had dinner, went on a nice walk with them and watched some Breaking Bad. Woke up early on Sunday, went to Cameron's 4th bday party, napped again! And then Jenny came over for a swim so we got a bit of exercise and some vitamin D :) This week at work has been good, lots of meetings, but nothing too strenuous.
Gender: Quinley.. that's our newest name. But it doesn't go well with Kikue, so I was thinking Quinley Grace. What do you think?
Workout: Well after our doctors appt last week I did take you on some walks. Brian and I walked a couple nights last week, I went swimming, walked with my parents. So not bad.. but of course could always be better.
What I’m looking forward to: Getting started on the house! Also we might be heading up to Redding this weekend to see your BF Maxwell. But we'll see how Pam is feeling. Here is the kitchen we are looking into getting..

Milestones and stressors: Things are great this week! Every day is a big milestone for you baby girl because you are growing so well, but nothing new that has been stressful this week. Expect the remodel that is going to be wonderful, but stressful all at the same time.

How Far Along: 24 weeks!
Size of baby: cantaloupe! Getting big baby!

Sleep: Good when I don't think about too much. And get tired at certain times of the day. Around 5pm is my peak tiredness.
Total Weight Gain: 18 pounds! Dr said today I am picking up the pace with the weight gain... and I can pump the breaks a little now ;). Based on my starting weight the total amount of weight I should gain is 25 pounds, so that only gives me 7 more pounds that I am suppose to gain and I still got a long ways to go. OK, I know baby we love our ice cream, but we might need to chill off that for a bit and do some more walking.
Symptoms: Feeling good! More movement, and it's normal for you to be moving around down low since my uterus is still low. And everything looks great! Midwife said today everything looks perfect! Love hearing that. So this week has been good. Slight backaches and when I am on my side for too long sometimes my hips hurt, but not a big deal.
Movement: You're moving and moving. Keep it up baby girl!
Maternity Clothes: No shopping this week, but it's definitely obvious that I am pregnant now. No hiding it now.
Go-to eats: It's about lunch time! I think after my appointment this morning and hearing I am gaining weight too quick, I will try and stay away from the sweets and carbs for a bit. Also have to take my GS test again in 2 weeks and really hope I don't have it. Maybe I'll grab a salad with some steak on top for protein :)
Best moment of the week: Saw Auntie Diana over the weekend and it's always so nice catching up with her. It was super relaxing and just so happy about welcoming you into this world. Here's a pic of her and I taking a selfie at her house...

And you have another new friend! Another boyfriend. Shirene had a baby boy on Monday, May 26th. Ronan Paul Ronzone. I haven't seen a picture of him (he came a little early) but it sounds like everything is A-OK. Here he is:

Gender: Here are some more names for you baby girl: Tatum (that's Auntie Diana's favorite) Nina and Quinn.
Workout: Not good at all! I really need to step it up in this department.
What I’m looking forward to: Setting up your nursery. I found some really great bohemian ideas on pinterest. I want to stick with the elephants, but more of a Thailand or Moroccan feel. Like Cost Plus World Market. Here are some of my favorites. We'll see how much I incorporate...

Milestones and stressors: We found out that Dad has cancer again. Very stressful and a huge bummer. Just makes me think more and more about Mom (your MaMa) and what the next steps will be. Would we all move to the duplex so she can live in the front? Lots to think about and hate to have to worry about that stuff now, but have to be realistic about things.

How Far Along: 23 weeks!
Size of baby: A grapefruit. We have a grapefruit tree in our backyard and some of them are huge!

Sleep: Still pretty good.. I've read in my 3rd trimester this gets rougher so I better enjoy my sleep now.
Total Weight Gain: I think I've gained about 15 pounds.
Symptoms: Really enjoying being pregnant this past week. Probably my favorite week so far. Maybe because I feel more comfortable with it all and I actually feel pretty. Skin feels more glowing and been in a great mood.
Movement: You're moving, but I always want you to move more, just so I know everything is going OK. I talk to you and know I love you so much already. It's so strange in a way, since it's still a bit surreal, but you're my baby.
Maternity Clothes: Been doing some shopping! I've even gotten clothes for you. It is way too much fun.
Go-to eats: Yes hungry all the time now. And love sweets still. You're probably going to have a sweet tooth baby girl. And this is my fault.. sorry about that ;)
Best moment of the week: I guess just finally feeling just so blessed about everything going on in my life and being appreciative. That is something I seemed to have a problem with in my past and with you coming, my new job, our house remodel on its way. Things are good!
Gender: Girl. Baby girl. Here are some more names we like for you. You know we like Alana, but we also thought of Vivian, Lea, Ella..
Workout: Er, not good at all. But did a lot of shopping! And that's a great work out, even went out last Saturday to a bar in LG and there was dancing, but I'll be honest being pregnant at a bar is not that much fun. And we even took you to "Boogie on the Bayou" in Campbell on Sunday and walked a LOT. So no gym, but was pretty active last weekend.
What I’m looking forward to: Our remodel! Starting the planning now and it's so fun.
Milestones and stressors: Just excited about your arrival. I know the next 4 months are going quick. I want to plan a trip (a babymoon)  but with the new job it's hard to take time off, so maybe a quick trip somewhere local. I do worry about you already. I just want you to be healthy and safe. I like you to move so I know you're well and kicking (literally). I just read an aricle on SIDS and it scared the crap out of me. Parenthood is definitely going to cause me to get some grey hairs..

I mentioned you on Facebook this week and Instagram last week. I showed this picture and man are people on social media excited for your arrival! You're going to have a huge fan base when you get here baby girl.

Monday, May 12, 2014

How Far Along: 22 weeks!
Size of baby: papaya. It sounds like you have developed eyes and your lips.. wow, it's so incredible.
Sleep: Pretty good. But I am tired a lot though during the day. I'll have certain spurts of energy, but I think I need more iron..
Total Weight Gain: Feel really big! And I still have so much more to go. I've gained about 13 pounds.
Symptoms: Itchy belly (starting to use lotion called MaMa Bee Lotion by Burt's Bees) which helps with the growing. Feet starting to feel bigger. Definitely showing now!
Movement: You're moving! I love it when you move. Makes me feel like everything is going so well in there and you are swimming along as you should be.
Maternity Clothes: UGG, outfits are starting to be much harder to find. Especially for work. I haven't done any shopping, but maybe I need to come up with more outfits during the weekend, so I don't have to think about it every morning, because it's getting tough. And it's suppose to be 100 degrees this week. Yikes! I better get ready for being huge and pregnant and hot all summer long..
Go-to eats: Hungry hippo! Still have a sweet tooth and hungry all the time, but drinking "beet juice" at work (contains lots of iron and folic acid) and still think about being healthy, but man I eat now. ;)
Best moment of the week: Telling work about you! Yippee. So still don't just want to tell everyone, but told my team last week at our meeting and everyone was really supportive and it was a big relief getting that off my chest. Also it was mother's day yesterday.  So we got lots of attention from family. Everyone is SO excited for your arrival. Brian and I were even included in the mother's day staircase annual picture! What an honor :)

Gender: Girl, and getting more and more excited by the day about having a baby girl. We are going to have so much fun together!
Workout: Better this week.. went swimming, did cardio. I was at UC Berkeley and literally was climbing hills all over campus. Had a garage sale last Saturday (nesting!) and lifted and moved things around. So I was definitely active this week.
What I’m looking forward to: Getting your room together and finishing our "nesting". We also might start our remodel soon. So would LOVE to get this started and finished before you arrive.
Milestones and stressors: Having our garage sale, probably need to have a few more this summer before we can get rid of everything, but it was a great start. Another milestone is work knows about you... WHEW, that was so nice. But still feel like I shouldn't be wearing tight tops yet. Since a lot of people still don't know. Might announce you soon on social media too..

How Far Along: 21 weeks!
Size of baby: pomegranate (we use to have a pomegranate tree in our backyard and I always thought they looked like such big fruit!)
Sleep: Eh, I've been sleeping alright, but my hips sometimes hurt and I am starting to feel a bit less comfortable. Also my dreams are CRAZY. Sometimes scary, so I am always happy to wake up and know they were just a dream.
Total Weight Gain: I've been starving, so I eat all the time and when I weigh myself at night it looks like I've gained 11-12 pounds, but this morning it was back down to 7-8 pounds from my starting weight. So it depends on the time of day. But I would say on average right now I am about 10 pounds heavier then when I started.
Symptoms: Starting to feel a bit more uncomfortable. Yesterday a pair of my maternity jeans were even too tight. Yikes! But today wearing the full tummy maternity jeans and feel better. But my lower back is starting to hurt. Brian gave me a wonderful massage yesterday. So that was nice, but I feel like I am getting super big already and it's harder to move around easily. Even getting out of bed, I prefer to swing my legs around first and I am more conscious of it.
Movement: Baby girl you are moving! And I love to feel you move. More often at night or if I eat a big meal, not moving enough to feel you from the outside, but I can definitely feel you from the inside. It's kind of sweet since it's just "our thing" for now :)
Maternity Clothes: I did do some shopping for myself at the Great Mall last weekend. I bought a muumuu (not joking) but it's a cool hippie one. Also did some shopping at H&M maternity and scored some cute clothes that I can still wear after I have you. And the best part was your dad and I went to the goodwill last week and bought you some things! A few cute dresses, 2 pairs of shoes (uggs and converse, totally unnecessary  but too cute and super cheap, so couldn't pass them up) and some will be for when you are bigger, like 12-18 months, but they were kind of vintage and they were a steal! Can't wait to see you in them. And I got you your first Apple swag at the store yesterday. How cute is this? I will put you in it and send it to the team after you're born. The smallest size they had was 6 months though, so it might be a bit big for you at first...

Go-to eats: Just hungry. Man I've been more hungry then I ever has this past week. Nom Nom Nom, give me food.. ;)

Best moment of the week: Coming up with your name! Alana Kikue Schwab. But who knows maybe it will change, but right now we love it...
Gender: Girl, duh, seems like this area can change since this will not change and couldn't be more thrilled about it. But it sure makes it feel more real when I can picture you beautiful baby girl.
Workout: Horrible. Why have I been so lazy these past few weeks. Jenny did come over on Sunday and we "swam" well laid out. And we walked, but we walked to an all you can eat buffet, so I guess that doesn't really count ;)
What I’m looking forward to: Starting to tell people at work, so I can show you off baby girl. My clothes are starting to look tight and it's getting harder and harder to hid this growing belly. Still the only person that knows is my boss Halle and my colleague Cecilia (Naomi's cousin) guessed last week! Oops, guess my clothes haven't been the best at hiding you. But she knew me from before, so I think she could tell I wasn't just getting fat. But I will probably tell the others within the next few weeks.
Milestones and stressors: I guess a stressor is work and trying to figure out my transition and hid you, but at least Halle has been an amazing lead and support and figuring out a transition plan. I think it sounds good. They are hiring another MBA recruiter and a contractor. So once this is all in place I'll fill much better about things and I can start being honest with people. A milestone is we had a contractor come over (Jared Hiser's dad) and he is going to give us a quote on the house remodel! Woo hoo! I would love to get things going and finished before you arrive, so you are not living in dust. Also your dad has finally been taking some action to clean up that garage. I've been bugging him for years and we always tend to get heated about it, but things are happening. Thanks baby girl for getting him moving. I know he's doing it for you.

Tuesday, April 29, 2014

How Far Along: 20 weeks and 1 day!
Size of baby: A banana. I like thinking about that, because that seems big!
Sleep: Slept well last night, but the night before was so excited to see you again during our ultrasound and find out whether you're a boy or girl I hardly slept that night.
Total Weight Gain: OK, I was wrong a few days ago, I think now I've gained about 10 pounds, maybe 11 and I read some where I should be gaining another pound per week.. so that's another 20 pounds. Yikes! Where is it all going to go??
Symptoms: Sleepy and out of breath easily, but overall feeling pretty good.
Movement: So much movement. I am sure in a few weeks I will think of this movement as nothing for what's to come and how much you'll be kicking me, but so many little bubbly movements in my belly, I actually love the way it feels.
Maternity Clothes: No new clothes for me. But did buy something for you! Your first pair of shoes, will see what they look like as you read on this post.
Go-to eats: For some reason I am really craving tofu.. but I heard it's not good for you, so I am trying not to eat too much of it, but man does it taste good to me right now.
Best moment of the week: Finding out your gender! And drum roll please....

Gender: A girl! You're a baby girl. Everyone was right. I thought maybe you were a boy for a bit, but then I kept going back and forth and before I went to the doctor's yesterday to see you I did know you were going to be a girl, but everyone was right this whole time. Dad said last night that you were his princess and that he already knew he would die for you. He's going to be an amazing Daddy... Man are you one lucky girl.. Here is your most recent photo shoot. You were being a little shy, but we did get some good shots.

Here you are! Flashing us your two "lines"

Your beautiful side profile:

I love this one!  Your little hand waving "hello"!

We bought you your first pair of shoes!

And here is Dad and I messing around after we found out we were having a girl...

Workout: Not good at all... sorry baby girl, I've been lazy this week.
What I’m looking forward to: Seeing you grow and I keep thinking about what you going to look like. I think you're going to be a beauty. Hapa girls are lookers!
Milestones and stressors: I was so happy to see you yesterday. We saw your spine, kidneys, strong heart beat, your arms and legs (they were folded) your cute little hand and obviously your 2 lines to tell us you're a girl. And everything looked perfect. Nothing to worry about. But you were face down again. I guess that's just a comfy position for you, so we couldn't really see your face. The practioner jiggled you around a bit and woke you up and had me turn to my side. But of course, being the worry wart that I am, as soon as I got home, I googled face down babies in ultrasounds and everything says it's perfectly normal, especially at this phase since you are still small and like to move around, and I searched lots of article, but then one article said it could mean down syndrome. What? I told Brian and he said that was silly, like because you are down you have downs? So of course I know that it is not true! And to be honest even in that article people commented to her post saying that is totally false and that lady was being crazy. You're going to be a perfect baby girl! Smart, beautiful, funny, sophisticated, kind to others. I just know it! I can't wait to meet  you. Your due date is September 14th. I wonder how you will come into this world? Hopefully at the right speed and don't hurt me too much ;)

Also side note, I am so paranoid I emailed my doctor about my worries of you being face down and he wrote this... I knew everything was just fine. If I  worry this much now, how am I going to be when you're a  teenager. Yikes!

Hi Jennifer,

I took a look at your ultrasound report. Everything looked fine. Babies move around all of the time. I would not give it a second thought.
